OSS occurs between the ages of 10 and 15 years in boys and between the ages of 8 and 13 years in girls. It can be associated with excessive sporting loads, the type of loads, the sporting terrain and the physical growth of adolescents. The aim of this study was to determine the short-term effects of a physiotherapy-kinesiology treatment programme in young athletes with OSS. Twenty active young athletes aged 13–16 years were invited to participate in the treatment programme and underwent a 6-week guided physiotherapy and exercise programme (18 sessions). At the beginning and end of the programme, we measured data on body composition, knee joint mobility, contractile properties of the anterior (RF) and posterior (BF) thigh muscles, and pain levels using the VAS scale. The results of the study confirm the positive effects of a physiotherapy-kinesiology treatment programme on young athletes with OSS. The programme helped increase overall muscle mass and the dominant and non-dominant leg muscle mass, as well as reduce the percentage of fat mass. In both the dominant and non-dominant leg, using the TMG method, we found statistically shorter contraction time, increased muscle tone and decreased muscle abdominal displacement in RF and BF, respectively, whereas the relaxation time of RF and BF was statistically significantly reduced only in the dominant leg. The programme also significantly reduced the VAS pain level in young athletes with OSS</dc:description><dc:description xml:lang="sl">Osgood-Schlatterjev sindrom (OSS) je športna poškodba oz. obolenje narastišča patelarnega ligamenta, ki je v zadnjem času v izjemnem porastu med mladimi športniki. Opravili so 6-tedenski vodeni program fizioterapije in vadbe (18 obravnav). S programom smo tudi občutno znižali stopnjo bolečine po lestvici VAS pri mladih športnikih z OSS</dc:description><edm:type>TEXT</edm:type><dc:type xml:lang="sl">znanstveno časopisje</dc:type><dc:type xml:lang="en">journals</dc:type><dc:type rdf:resource="http://www.wikidata.org/entity/Q361785" /></edm:ProvidedCHO><ore:Aggregation rdf:about="http://www.dlib.si/?URN=URN:NBN:SI:doc-KUOCGGWS"><edm:aggregatedCHO rdf:resource="URN:NBN:SI:doc-KUOCGGWS" /><edm:isShownBy rdf:resource="http://www.dlib.si/stream/URN:NBN:SI:doc-KUOCGGWS/763beb07-38c8-406f-8451-914755735ef9/PDF" /><edm:rights rdf:resource="http://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/" /><edm:provider>Slovenian National E-content Aggregator</edm:provider><edm:intermediateProvider xml:lang="en">National and University Library of Slovenia</edm:intermediateProvider><edm:dataProvider xml:lang="sl">Univerza v Ljubljani, Fakulteta za šport</edm:dataProvider><edm:object rdf:resource="http://www.dlib.si/streamdb/URN:NBN:SI:doc-KUOCGGWS/maxi/edm" /><edm:isShownAt rdf:resource="http://www.dlib.si/details/URN:NBN:SI:doc-KUOCGGWS" /></ore:Aggregation></rdf:RDF>
