Cannabis has attracted increasing scientific interest in recent decades, as its active ingredients make it increasingly important for treating the symptoms of many diseases. This is also reflected in the monographs on cannabis flower and cannabidiol, which will be included in the European Pharmacopoeia in 2024. To optimize the production of cannabis products, it is essential to understand the extraction processes, the yield of active ingredients, and the content and therapeutic effectiveness of the extracts. This basic overview covers the herbal drug and its preparation for extraction, and various techniques such as extraction methods with organic solvents, oils, gases, water and hot air, along with the approaches specific to the processing of cannabis, such as decarboxylation. We also touch on the safety aspects of both the processes and final products"},{"@xml:lang":"sl","#text":"Članek obravnava različne metode ekstrakcije konoplje in njihovo vlogo pri izkoriščanju terapevtskega potenciala kanabinoidov, predvsem kanabidiola (CBD) in (–)-trans-?9-tetrahidrokanabinola (?9-THC) za uporabo v medicini. Konoplja v zadnjih desetletjih vzbuja vedno več znanstvenega zanimanja, saj zaradi svojih zdravilnih učinkovin postaja vedno bolj pomembna za zdravljenje simptomov številnih bolezni, kar se odraža tudi v monografijah za cvet konoplje in kanabidiol, ki se bosta v letu 2024 uvrstili v Evropsko farmakopejo. Za optimizacijo proizvodnje izdelkov iz konoplje je bistveno razumevanje postopkov ekstrakcije, njihovega donosa učinkovin ter vsebnosti in terapevtske učinkovitosti ekstraktov. Ta osnovni pregled področja zato obravnava rastlinsko drogo in njeno pripravo za ekstrakcijo, različne tehnike, kot so ekstrakcijske metode z organskimi topili, olji, plini, vodo ter vročim zrakom ter pristope, ki so posebnost pri predelavi konoplje, kot je npr. dekarboksilacija.
