Eighteen female basketball players (mean age 18.72 ± 2.44 years) participated in the study. We found that active rests consisting of high-intensity ball-handling exercises significantly affected the reduction in jump heights and reactive strength index (RSI) (p < 0.0001), with higher-intensity rests having a greater negative effect than lower-intensity and passive ones. This shows that passive rests are the best choice for achieving improvements of plyometric training exclusively. However, considering that active rests involving low and medium intensity ball handling exercises, have an influence of less than 10% on jump height and RSI compared to passive rests, the choice of these forms of rests could be reasonable in polyvalent structure of basketball training. On the other hand, high intensity active rests are not appropriate during plyometric training sets as they had the most negative effects on the key parameters studied. The results of our cross-sectional study undoubtedly showed the acute impact of active rest of varying intensity on the height of the jumps, however further research should confirm potential long-term effects"},{"@xml:lang":"sl","#text":"Namen raziskave je bil ugotoviti vpliv aktivnega odmora v obliki različno intenzivnih vaj rokovanja z žogo na učinkovitost pliometričnega treninga pri košarkaricah. V raziskavo je bilo vključenih 18 košarkaric (starost 18,72 ± 2,44 leta), ki igrajo v 1. SKL v kategoriji članic ter selekcijah U20 in U18. Ugotovili smo, da aktivni odmor v obliki rokovanj z žogo največje intenzivnosti vpliva na zmanjšanje višine poskokov in indeks reaktivne moči (p < 0,001) ter da višje intenzivnosti odmorov vplivajo bolj kot nižje. Ugotavljamo, da je pri pliometričnem treningu, pri katerem želimo izrecno vplivati na razvoj višine skokov in izboljšanje indeksa reaktivne moči, med serijami bolj smiselno izbrati pasivni odmor. Ker aktivni odmor v obliki rokovanja z žogo nizke in srednje intenzivnosti na višino skokov in indeks reaktivne moči vplivata manj kot 10 % v primerjavi s pasivnim odmorom, bi bila izbira omenjenih oblik odmora v okviru košarkarskega treninga lahko sprejemljiva, vendar zahteva nadaljnje raziskave. Rezultati naše prečno-presečne študije so nedvomno pokazali akutni vpliv različno intenzivnega aktivnega odmora na višino poskokov v posameznih serijah.
