We study the non-institutional educational framework and classify its activities. The purpose of the article is therefore to present the organizational structure, mission, and methods of extracurricular initiatives, and to outline their business models. Methodology: With an online survey, 26 different initiatives were analysed that promote and improve digital literacy: 13 institutes, four societies, three companies, and six associations that operate without a legal entity. The main results are presented with descriptive statistics. Results: Our study stresses that extracurricular digital education is largely based on voluntary, sometimes even unpaid work, which introduces many structural dilemmas and raises new questions about the importance of the educational framework for digital literacy, which, in the field of modern education, still seems to be a marginalized phenomenon. Research limitation: Due to the limited responsive rate of some initiatives, the results presented here are not representative. Originality/practical implications: This is the first quantitative study of co-curricular initiatives for teaching digital literacy within Slovenian context, which also offers suggestions for a future in-depth research</dc:description><dc:description xml:lang="sl">Namen: Cilj prispevka je ugotoviti, katere izvenšolske iniciative se v Sloveniji ukvarjajo s poučevanjem računalništva, informatike in digitalnim opismenjevanjem, ter predstaviti njihovo delovanje. Pri tem se osredotočamo na identifikacijo tistih iniciativ, ki prihajajo iz neinstitucionalnega izobraževalnega okvira. Namen članka je zato prikazati organizacijsko strukturo, idejno poslanstvo in metode dela izvenšolskih iniciativ ter izrisati morebitne modele njihovega delovanja. Metodologija: Z metodo spletnega vprašalnika smo v kvantitativni raziskavi zajeli 26 različnih iniciativ: 13 zavodov, 4 društva, 3 podjetja, 6 pa jih deluje brez pravne osebe, ki na različne načine spodbujajo in razvijajo digitalno pismenost. Podatki so analizirani s pomočjo opisnih statistik. Rezultati: Študija ugotavlja, da izvenšolsko digitalno opismenjevanje v veliki meri temelji na prostovoljnem, celo neplačanem delu, kar vnaša mnoge strukturne dileme in odpira nova vprašanja o pomenu sodobne digitalne pismenosti, ki se na področju sodobnega izobraževanja zdi še precej marginaliziran fenomen. Omejitve raziskave: Zaradi nepopolne odzivnosti nekaterih izvenšolskih iniciativ tukajšnjih ugotovitev ne moremo posploševati na celotno populacijo tovrstnih akterjev.
