New archival regulation on long-term preservation of digital records in Slovenia accepted in 2006 offers new possibilities for pro-active long-term preservation of digital records and assigns a wide range of new roles to the Archives of the Republic of Slovenia whose primary goal is to preserve national archival heritage. Pri nas so se s sprejetjem novih arhivskih predpisov leta 2006 vzpostavile možnosti za proaktivno ravnanje na področju dolgoročnega ohranjanja elektronskih zapisov. Pomembno vlogo pri tem ima tudi Arhiv RS, ki so mu poleg njegove glavne naloge, skrbi za nacionalno arhivsko kulturno dediščino, s temi predpisi v izvajanje zaupali tudi vrsto novih strokovnih nalog.
