Trends regarding women MPs are showing that party quotas were effective in Croatia, but not in Serbia and Macedonia and legislated candidate quotas were effective in Macedonia and Serbia but not in Croatia. This article comparatively analyses reasons for the (in)effectiveness of legislated candidate quotas and party quotas, offers basic evidence on (in) sustainable legal improvements and a conclusion that it would be a great mistake to expect that quotas alone could lead to transformative gender equality aware policies"},{"@xml:lang":"sl","#text":"V Makedoniji, Srbiji in na Hrvaškem so koalicije aktivistk z močno podporo mednarodnih partnerjev ter z uporabo zagovorništva in lobiranja v obdobjih predvolilnih tekem uspele spraviti vprašanje podzastopanosti žensk v politiki na dnevni red velike politike ter uvesti partijske in zakonske kvote za kandidate in kandidatke. Trendi izvoljenih poslank kažejo, da so bile partijske kvote do neke mere učinkovite na Hrvaškem, ne pa tudi v Makedoniji in Srbiji, zakonske kvote za oba spola pa so bile neučinkovite na Hrvaškem; ker pa so bile pravilno zasnovane, so uspešno vplivale na višji procent izvoljenih poslank v Makedoniji in Srbiji.
