Within the last decade the transition metal nitride coatings have been increasingly used for wear protection of various tools and machine components. Among these materials the industrial use of TiN has been widely accepted, although recently interesting properties of other nitride coatings have becoming recognized, e.g. CrN, TiCrN, TiAlN. In the present work the corrosion resistance of several nitrides has been investigated in aqueous solutions, as well as at elevanted temperatures. Several selected studies carried out by electrochemical methods in conjunction with surface analysis techniques (XPS, AES, EDS, SEM, AFM) are presented"},{"@xml:lang":"sl","#text":"V zadnjem desetletju so postale trde prevleke, izdelane iz nitridov prehodnih kovin, nenadomestljiv način zašite pomembnih strojnih delov in orodij, izmed teh materialov najpogosteje uporabljamo prevleke TiN, kis se odlikujejo z izrednimi fizikalno-kemijskimi lastnostmi in privlačno zlato barvo. Čedalje večje zahteve posebnih industrijskih aplikacij so pripeljale do potrebe po novih materialih. Danes so že uveljavile prevleke, izdelane iz nitridov drugihprehodnih kovin (CrN, ZrN, AlN) ali njihovih kombinaci (TiZrN, TiAlN). Čeprav se trde prevleke najbolj pogosto uporabljajo v tribologiji, njihove izredne lastnosti, ki vključujejo visoko trdoto, dobro električno in toplotno prevodnost ter kemijsko stabilnost, jim ponujajo možnosti uporabe tudi v drugenamene. V članku bom predstavila nekaj izbranih primerov raziskav korozije trdih prevlek v vodnih raztopinah in pri povišanih temperaturah.
