Methods: Documentation of all persons following an upper limb amputation who had problematic stumps and visited our outpatient clinic for rehabilitation of persons following upper limb amputation at least once were included into study. Results: Eight persons following upper limb amputation who had problematic scars have been treated in our outpatient clinic during the last five years. All the eight persons were fitted with prostheses; three with body-powered, four with passive or cosmetic, and one with myoelectric prosthesis. Two of those persons are not using the prosthesis any more. Those who have good sensation with the stump and their skin on the stump is not fixated use the prosthesis more hours daily than the others. In all cases, the fitting process was problematic and the prosthetist had to perform several adjustments of sockets. Conclusion: There are not many persons following upper limb amputation whose stumps are covered with grafts or scars. They can be successfully fitted with upper limb prostheses, but the process is long. The prostheses have to be made by an experienced prosthetistIzhodišča: Pri obravnavi oseb po amputaciji zgornjih udov se kljub napredku tehnologije še vedno srečujemo z mnogimi težavami, ki preprečujejo uspešno protetično oskrbo. Namen našega dela je bil ugotoviti, kako uspešni smo bili pri opremljanju s protezami za zgornje ude pri osebah, ki imajo na krnih obsežne brazgotine in/ali presadke, zaradi katerih je izdelava ležišča veliko zahtevnejša. Metode: Pregledali smo medicinsko-tehnično dokumentacijo vseh oseb po amputaciji zgornjega uda, ki smo jih obravnavali v naši ambulanti za rehabilitacijo oseb po amputaciji zgornjega uda v zadnjih petih letih in so imele na krnih obsežne brazgotine in/ali presadke. Rezultati: V tem obdobju je bilo v obravnavo vključenih osem oseb z obsežnimi brazgotinami ali presadki na krnih. Vseh osem oseb je dobilo protezo: trije funkcionalno mehansko, štirje estetsko ter eden mioelektrično protezo. Dve osebi proteze ne uporabljata več. Več ur dnevno jo uporabljajo osebe brez okvar zaznavanja s krnom ter tisti, ki imajo dobro pomično kožo. Pri vseh je bil postopek izdelave ležišča težaven, saj je bilo potrebno narediti veliko prilagoditev in popravkov. Zaključek: Oseb po amputaciji zgornjega uda, ki imajo na krnu obsežne brazgotine in/ali presadke, je malo. Oskrba s protezo je pri večini možna, vendar zahtevna in zamudna.
