We assess how Slovenians are perceived by others 25 years after the disintegration of Yugoslavia and discuss the potential implications for international business (IB). Analysing a matched six-country sample, we observe that: (1) Slovenians are generally positively perceived; (2) the majority of positive stereotypes can be linked to conscientiousness; (3) Croats and Serbs display the lowest level of social distance towards Slovenians, Macedonians the highest; (4) the share of positive national stereotypes about Slovenians is negatively correlated to the share of exports to Slovenia; (5) social distance towards Slovenians is negatively correlated to the share of exports to Slovenia; and (6) Serbs display the most favourable attitudes to IB with Slovenians</dc:description><dc:description xml:lang="sl">Namen prispevka je pregled vpliva nacionalnih stereotipov in družbene (etnične) razdalje do Slovencev. Analiziramo stereotipe o Slovencih med drugimi narodi nekdanje Jugoslavije 25 let po njenem razpadu ter ugotavljamo vpliv stereotipov in družbene razdalje na različne vidike mednarodnega poslovanja. Na podlagi analize ujemajočih se vzorcev iz šestih držav ugotavljamo: (1) med drugimi narodi nekdanje Jugoslavije so Slovenci zelo pozitivno dojeti; (2) pretežni delež pozitivnih stereotipov se povezuje s t. i. vestnostjo; (3) Hrvati in Srbi imajo najnižjo stopnjo družbene razdalje do Slovencev, medtem ko imajo Makedonci najvišjo; (4) delež pozitivnih stereotipov o Slovencih je negativno povezan z deležem izvoza v Slovenijo; (5) družbena razdalja in delež omenjenega izvoza sta tudi negativno povezana; (6) Srbi imajo najbolj ugoden odnos do mednarodnega poslovanja s Slovenci</dc:description><edm:type>TEXT</edm:type><dc:type xml:lang="sl">znanstveno časopisje</dc:type><dc:type xml:lang="en">journals</dc:type><dc:type rdf:resource="http://www.wikidata.org/entity/Q361785" /></edm:ProvidedCHO><ore:Aggregation rdf:about="http://www.dlib.si/?URN=URN:NBN:SI:doc-IUTQ4TMP"><edm:aggregatedCHO rdf:resource="URN:NBN:SI:doc-IUTQ4TMP" /><edm:isShownBy rdf:resource="http://www.dlib.si/stream/URN:NBN:SI:doc-IUTQ4TMP/41bae07e-38ae-4f4f-b0b7-439611934d36/PDF" /><edm:rights rdf:resource="http://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/" /><edm:provider>Slovenian National E-content Aggregator</edm:provider><edm:intermediateProvider xml:lang="en">National and University Library of Slovenia</edm:intermediateProvider><edm:dataProvider xml:lang="sl">Univerza v Ljubljani, Fakulteta za družbene vede</edm:dataProvider><edm:object rdf:resource="http://www.dlib.si/streamdb/URN:NBN:SI:doc-IUTQ4TMP/maxi/edm" /><edm:isShownAt rdf:resource="http://www.dlib.si/details/URN:NBN:SI:doc-IUTQ4TMP" /></ore:Aggregation></rdf:RDF>
