We discuss different scintillating materials and their behavior. We also address photomultipliers, devices that detect scintillations and amplify the acquired signal. Coupling these materials and photomultipliers results in scintillation detectorsV članku so predstavljeni osnovni koncepti scintilacijskih detektorjev ter raznolikost tega področja. V članku obravnavamo scintilacijske materiale, njihovo obnašanje in raznovrstnost. Prav tako povemo nekaj o fotopomnoževalkah, ki zaznajo scintilacije in jih ojačajo.
