The aim of the research was to find out how people with spinal cord impairment use these aids in their home environment, what is their impact on functional abilities, quality of life and positive effects and possible negative experiences when using them. Methods: The survey was sent to 139 patients with spinal cord injury, who completed rehabilitation at the University Rehabilitation Institute, Republic of Slovenia (URI) from 2013 to 2017, and received orthoses or FES for one or both lower limbs at the time of dismissal. Research was approved by the Medical Ethics Committee of the URI (No. 61/2018). Results: Of the 98 patients who received orthoses, 45 returned the completed survey. Za izboljšanje funkcije stoje in hoje lahko uporabimo različne pripomočke, kot so ortoze in funkcionalna električna stimulacija (FES). Namen raziskave je bil ugotoviti, kako osebe z okvaro hrbtenjače te pripomočke uporabljajo v domačem okolju, kakšen je njihov vpliv na funkcijske zmožnosti, kakovost življenja ter pozitivne učinke in morebitne negativne izkušnje ob uporabi le-teh. Metode: Anketo smo poslali 139 pacientom z okvaro hrbtenjače, ki so zaključili rehabilitacijo na Univerzitetnem rehabilitacijskem inštitutu Republike Slovenije Soča (URI Soča) v obdobju od leta 2013 do leta 2017 ter so ob odpustu prejeli ortozo ali FES za en ali oba spodnja uda. Raziskavo je odobrila Komisija za medicinsko etiko URI Soča (št.: 61/2018). Rezultati: Od 98 pacientov, ki so prejeli ortoze, jih je izpolnjeno anketo vrnilo 45. Od teh jih večina (87 %) ortoze še vedno uporablja, večinoma za hojo zunaj (41 %). Od pozitivnih učinkov so najpogosteje navajali boljše počutje (69 %), od neželenih lastnosti pa težko in dolgotrajno nameščanje ortoz (36 %). Od 41 pacientov, ki so prejeli FES, smo prejeli 18 izpolnjenih anket. Tudi od teh jih večina (83 %) še vedno uporablja FES, večinoma za hojo na prostem (47 %) in krepitve mišic (27 %). Od pozitivnih učinkov so najpogosteje navajali izboljšano kakovost življenja (53 %), med težavami ob uporabi pa strah pred padci (47 %). Zaključek: Večina pacientov je poročala, da predpisani pripomoček zaradi pozitivnega vpliva na počutje ter kakovost življenja še vedno uporablja"}],"edm:type":"TEXT","dc:type":[{"@xml:lang":"sl","#text":"znanstveno časopisje"},{"@xml:lang":"en","#text":"journals"},{"@rdf:resource":"http://www.wikidata.org/entity/Q361785"}]},"ore:Aggregation":{"@rdf:about":"http://www.dlib.si/?URN=URN:NBN:SI:doc-ILEYMLU4","edm:aggregatedCHO":{"@rdf:resource":"URN:NBN:SI:doc-ILEYMLU4"},"edm:isShownBy":{"@rdf:resource":"http://www.dlib.si/stream/URN:NBN:SI:doc-ILEYMLU4/a9c00943-de89-4ff6-aa97-be8f019c391a/PDF"},"edm:rights":{"@rdf:resource":"http://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"},"edm:provider":"Slovenian National E-content Aggregator","edm:intermediateProvider":{"@xml:lang":"en","#text":"National and University Library of Slovenia"},"edm:dataProvider":{"@xml:lang":"sl","#text":"Univerzitetni rehabilitacijski inštitut RS – Soča"},"edm:object":{"@rdf:resource":"http://www.dlib.si/streamdb/URN:NBN:SI:doc-ILEYMLU4/maxi/edm"},"edm:isShownAt":{"@rdf:resource":"http://www.dlib.si/details/URN:NBN:SI:doc-ILEYMLU4"}}}}
