However, both the socio-political relevance as well as the empirical dimension of this process . e.g. in how far counter-public spheres turn out to be a source of democratic public in reality are mostly left out of consideration in the scientific discourse. The article first reconstructs descriptive and normative opinions on counter-public from a media-based perspective, and elaborates on the relationship between the public sphere, counter-public spheres, and new media. Then it discusses the potential of counter-public activities to revive the public sphere, particularly in the framework of the European Union. Two case studies of European wide counter-public spheres are presented: the collective Luther Blissett and the network organisation of Attac. Their structural characteristics such as transnationality, network structure, and anti-copyright stance generate a new trans-European form of collective identity. As a result, the European integration may also gain (unintentionally) a new momentum</dc:description><dc:description xml:lang="sl">Ideja kritične nasprotne javnosti je široko obravnavana, pri tem pa nista upoštevani družbenopolitična relevantnost in empirična razsežnost procesa - koliko torej nasprotne javnosti dejansko prispevajo k demokratizaciji javnosti. Članek najprej povzema deskriptivna in normativna pojmovanja nasprotne javnosti iz medijske perspektive ter razčlenjuje odnose med javno sfero, nasprotnimi javnimi sferami in novimi mediji. Sledi razprava o možnosti, da bodo dejavnosti v nasprotni javni sferi oživile javno sfero v okviru Evropske unije. Predstavljeni sta dve evropski študiji primera: kolektiv Luther Blissett in mrežna organizacija Attac. Njune strukturne značilnosti, kot so nadnacionalnost, mrežna struktura in negativen odnos do avtorskih pravic, spodbujajo novo, "transevropsko" obliko skupinske identitete. S tem lahko tudi evropska integracija (nenamerno) dobi nov zagon</dc:description><edm:type>TEXT</edm:type><dc:type xml:lang="sl">znanstveno časopisje</dc:type><dc:type xml:lang="en">journals</dc:type><dc:type rdf:resource="http://www.wikidata.org/entity/Q361785" /></edm:ProvidedCHO><ore:Aggregation rdf:about="http://www.dlib.si/?URN=URN:NBN:SI:doc-IGJ5Q3CW"><edm:aggregatedCHO rdf:resource="URN:NBN:SI:doc-IGJ5Q3CW" /><edm:isShownBy rdf:resource="http://www.dlib.si/stream/URN:NBN:SI:doc-IGJ5Q3CW/4494b5f6-7d51-458e-b53f-e124f2458f8f/PDF" /><edm:rights rdf:resource="http://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/" /><edm:provider>Slovenian National E-content Aggregator</edm:provider><edm:intermediateProvider xml:lang="en">National and University Library of Slovenia</edm:intermediateProvider><edm:dataProvider xml:lang="sl">Evropski inštitut za komuniciranje in kulturo - EURICOM</edm:dataProvider><edm:object rdf:resource="http://www.dlib.si/streamdb/URN:NBN:SI:doc-IGJ5Q3CW/maxi/edm" /><edm:isShownAt rdf:resource="http://www.dlib.si/details/URN:NBN:SI:doc-IGJ5Q3CW" /></ore:Aggregation></rdf:RDF>
