This study, situated within the field of cognitive linguistics, analyses the mono-and multimodal metaphorical constructions found in messages and comments produced on WhatsApp and Instagram. Using a qualitative and exploratory methodology, the research draws on the principles of conceptual metaphor theory (Lakoff and Johnson, 1980), multimodality theory (Kress and van Leeuwen, 2020), Forceville’s work on multimodal metaphor (1996, 2009), discussions on textual cohesion (Martinec and Salway, 2005), and theoretical contributions from cyberpragmatics (Yus, 2001, 2011)</dc:description><dc:description xml:lang="sl">Pojav svetovnega spleta in z njim vzpon virtualnih komunikacijskih okolij sta privedla tudi do razširitve tradicionalnega pojmovanja metafore. Pričujoča raziskava, umeščena v kognitivno lingvistiko, se osredotoča na enomodalnost in multimodalnost metaforičnih razmerij v sporočilih in komentarjih na platformah WhatsApp in Instagram. Študija temelji na kvalitativnem in raziskovalnem pristopu ter izhaja iz načel konceptualne metafore (Lakoff in Johnson, 1980), teorije multimodalnosti (Kress in van Leeuwen, 2020) in Forcevillove multimodalne metafore (1996, 2009), pa tudi iz argumentov o besedilni koheziji (Martinec in Salway, 2005) ter teoretičnih prispevkov kibernetske pragmatike (Yus, 2001, 2011)</dc:description><dc:description xml:lang="sl">El advenimiento de la Internet y con ella el surgimiento de espacios comunicativos virtuales han producido una ampliación de la concepción tradicional de la metáfora.
