It presents some experiences reported in the world, especially those based on the area of supported employment, which has been proven as the most effective concept of vocational training and further for employment of disabled persons in the real work environment. Special emphasis is put on the system of vocational training in the Pomurje region and on some challenges for the future. This is rooted in an experimental project called \"Establishing conditions for vocational rehabilitation in local community\", which was implemented by the University Rehabilitation Institute in Ljubljana with support and participation of the Employment Service of Slovenia during the years 1997-2000, after which the program became a regular form of services. The program followed the contemporary trends in vocational rehabilitation and effected and reformed the local network of rehabilitation programs through efficient usage of local resources"},{"@xml:lang":"sl","#text":"Prispevek predstavlja pomen zaposlovanja oseb z zmanjšanimi zmožnostmi v lokalni skupnosti in nekatere izkušnje v svetu in Evropi, zlasti na področju podpornega zaposlovanja, ki se je uveljavilo kot najučinkovitejši koncept usposabljanja in zaposlovanja oseb z zmanjšanimi zmožnostmi v realnem delovnem okolju. Poudarek je na sistemu usposabljanja in zaposlovanja oseb z zmanjšanimi zmožnostmi v Pomurju in nekaterih izzivih za prihodnost, kar ima svoje korenine v eksperimentalnem projektu \"Razvijanje pogojev za poklicno rehabilitacijo v lokalni skupnosti\", ki smo ga v Univerzitetnem rehabilitacijskem inštitutu Republike Slovenije - Soča izvajali ob podpori in sodelovanju Zavoda Republike Slovenije za zaposlovanje v letih 1997-2000, ko je program postal redna oblika rehabilitacijskih storitev.
