Their value lies in breaking the invisibility of non-heteronormative family forms and in disclosing the issues, hindrances and needs connected with deficient and inadequate rights and regulations implemented by the systems of family law. These issues are important for family policies and for social work, as the number of same-sex families (also in Slovenia) is growing, and the needs and situations with which the children and parents in same-sex families are confronted due to their non-narmativeness will have to be answered. The article identifies some of these issues and presents the first research on same-sex families in Slovenia, which includes interviews with 10 parents in same-sex families. It describes family life through issues that were demonstrated as important in interviews with the parents. equality, honesty, love, (non)anonimity, identity, invisibility, parental competences, community,inclusion, normality, coming out"},{"@xml:lang":"sl","#text":"V mednarodnem kontekstu obstajajo že številne raziskave o istospolnih družinah, katerih pomen je že v tem, da razbijajo molk o obstoju in bivanju neheteronormativnih družinskih oblik, pa tudi v tem, da razkrivajo teme, ovirein potrebe družin, ki so posledica pomanjkljivih in neustreznih uredb in določil družinskih in drugih politik. Ta vprašanja so pomembna za oblikovanje družinskih politik in tudi za socialno delo, saj je istospolnih družin (tudi pri nas) vse več in bo treba odgovoriti tudi na potrebe in življenjske situacije, s katerimi se zaradi svoje normativnosti srečujejo otroci in starši v istospolnih družinah.Nekatere od teh ovir identificira tudi pričujoča študija in predstavi prvo raziskavo o istospolnih družinah pri nas, ki zajema intervjuje z desetimi starši iz istospolnih družin.
