Employers are becoming an important partner in developing working conditions and accommodations to keep disabled people employed. They are stimulated by laws with financial incentives. Aims: The aim was to identify how the accommodations of workplaces to disabled workers implemented at the University Rehabilitation Institute in Ljubljana in the period of the last five years suit the needs of disabled workers. We also wanted to evaluate the activities of the interdisciplinary team for workplace accommodations. Methods: Sixteen workplaces and their accommodations were included in the analysis. They were implemented for 22 disabled workers in the period from 2006 to 2010. A questionnaire was used to assess how the accommodations suit to the workers and how effective they are. It was administered in cooperation with the disabled workers and responsible managers by visiting accommodated work places. Results: The disabled workers for whom the accommodations were implemented were 50 years old on average; the average duration of their disabled status was 9 years. Accommodations were mainly required because of body function limitations (as established by the Invalidity Commission). All the accommodations were funded by the financial incentives for over-quota employment of people with disabilities. Most accommodations pertained to work furniture (44 %), 19 % included new equipment, in further 19 % the whole work site was redesigned, in one case a device for video surveillance was installed, the entrance to the workplace was made more accessible in one case, and a new type of switchboard was installed in one case. The strategies of the interdisciplinary team for accommodations seem to be successful. It would be worthwhile to continue its work as a permanent activity of the employer for keeping workers with disabilities successfully employed. The users assessed all accommodations, except one, as suitable and affective, they use them permanently, and they are also often used by other workers. Conclusions: The employer's activities can be important for health and work ability protection of employed workers with disabilities and can have even better effect with proper use of publicly funded financial incentives. Teamwork as a permanent activity is important. The key element is active participation of disabled workers. It would be useful to introduce workplace accommodations as a permanent practice for all workers as part of primary prevention measure for maintaining work ability"},{"@xml:lang":"sl","#text":"Izhodišča: Z daljšanjem življenjske in delovne dobe se povečuje število zaposlenih, ki si zaradi posledic kroničnih bolezni in poškodb pridobijo status delovnega invalida. Delodajalec je pomemben partner pri prilagajanju delovnih pogojev, s katerimi delavcem s statusom invalida omogoči ohraniti zaposlitev. V okviru sistemskih in z zakonom uvedenih ukrepov lahko delodajalec za ta namen uporablja različne finančne spodbude. Država ga spodbuja z nekaterimi zakonskimi ukrepi, med katere sodi tudi kvotni sistem. Posebno pomemben motivacijski dejavnik so finančne spodbude za prilagajanje delovnih mest. Namen: V študiji smo želeli preveriti ustreznost in učinkovitost prilagoditev delovnih mest delovnim invalidom, ki smo jih v zadnjih petih letih izvedli na Univerzitetnem rehabilitacijskem inštitutu - Soča (URI-Soča). Naš namen je bil tudi preučiti prednosti načina delovanja interdisciplinarne komisije (skupine) za prilagajanje delovnih mest delovnim invalidom. Metode: V študijo smo vključili 16 prilagoditev delovnih mest, ki smo jih izvedli v obdobju od leta 2006 do 2010 za 22 delovnih invalidov. Ustreznost in učinkovitost prilagoditev smo ocenili z vprašalnikom. Izpolnili smo ga ob ogledu delovnih mest. Pri ocenjevanju so sodelovali delovni invalidiin odgovorni vodje. Rezultati: Delovni invalidi v izbrani skupini so bili že v obdobju staranja, povprečno so bili stari 50 let. Status delovnega invalida so imeli v povprečju že 9 let. Prilagoditve so potrebovali pretežno zaradi omejitev pri telesnem delovanju (ocena invalidske komisije). Vse prilagoditve smo na URI-Soča izvedli s finančnimi sredstvi za preseganje kvotezaposlenih invalidov. Načrtovali smo jih individualno, glede na njihove potrebe. Prevladovale so prilagoditve delovnega pohištva (44 %), nato prilagoditve z nabavo nove strojne opreme (19 %) in v enakem deležu celostna ureditev delovnega mesta, v enem primeru smo uvedli video nadzor, izboljšali dostop do delovnega mesta ter posodobili telefonsko centralo. Uporabniki so vse prilagoditve ocenili kot ustrezne, razen pri enem stroju. Pogosto jih uporabljajo tudi drugi delavci, ki nimajo statusa delovnega invalida. Zaključek: Delodajalec je lahko pomemben nosilec aktivnosti za varovanje zdravja in ohranjanje delovne zmožnosti zaposlenih delovnih invalidov, posebnotakrat, ko učinkovito uporablja temu namenjene sistemske in finančne spodbude. Pomemben je timski pristop, ki poteka kot redna dejavnost. Ključno je aktivno sodelovanje delovnih invalidov.
