Various researchers emphasize that the following pedagogical competencies are particularly important for a teacher: knowledge of teaching and learning theories and adherence to didactic principles at work; knowing and taking into account the student’s characteristics; continuous development of curriculum and teaching strategies; the ability to adequately evaluate the process; creating a creative and safe learning environment; communication skills and the ability to develop oneself. The paper describes the ways of acquiring pedagogical competences. Students acquire pedagogical competences through exercises and peer teaching in adapted, simulated conditions. Here, many researchers emphasize that it is necessary to empower faculty lecturers with pedagogical competences, who often do not have pedagogical experience in the real, school field. For students, it is therefore more important to acquire pedagogical competences in real situations through practical mentoring pedagogical training at schools. The process of teacher training should continue upon entry into the labor market with a carefully planned and guided induction program. Realizing that the qualifications obtained in studies are no longer sufficient for quality work in practice, we must encourage the continuous improvement of teachers’ professional competences by establishing lifelong training, developing the individual’s career path and increasing the professionalization of the teaching profession"},{"@xml:lang":"sl","#text":"Danes potrebujejo učitelji športne vzgoje in drugi izvajalci športnih programov širok nabor pedagoških kompetenc. Različni raziskovalci poudarjajo, da so za učitelja pomembne predvsem naslednje pedagoške kompetence: poznavanje teorij poučevanja in učenja ter upoštevanje didaktičnih principov pri delu; poznavanje in upoštevanje učenčevih značilnosti; neprestano razvijanje kurikuluma in poučevalnih strategij; sposobnost ustrezne evalvacije procesa; oblikovanje ustvarjalnega in varnega učnega okolja; komunikacijske spretnosti in sposobnost lastnega razvoja. V prispevku so opisane poti pridobivanja pedagoških kompetenc. Študenti pridobivajo pedagoške kompetence z vajami in vrstniškim poučevanjem v prilagojenih, simuliranih pogojih. Pri tem številni raziskovalci poudarjajo, da je treba s pedagoškimi kompetencami opolnomočiti fakultetne predavatelje, ki pogosto nimajo pedagoških izkušenj iz realnega, šolskega področja. Za študente je zato pomembnejše pridobivanje pedagoških kompetenc v realnih situacijah s praktičnim mentorskim pedagoškim usposabljanjem na šolah. Proces usposabljanja učiteljev bi se moral nadaljevati ob vstopu na trg dela z domišljenim vodenim pripravništvom.
