We also aimed to verify whether sport teachers are acquainted with the basketball content in curricula and establish the proportion of schools that participate in basketball competitions. The study included 202 sports teachers from grammar schools. The questionnaire was correctly completed by 90 sports teachers. The results show that all sports teachers teach basketball at least 2 years out of 4. They dedicate 15.3 hours (female students) and 17 hours (male students) to it per year on average. The gender differences were identified in terms of individual content, interest in basketball and participation in school basketball competitions. We identified differences in the teaching of basketball between the core curriculum and elective sports subjects. Nearly all sports teachers (98%) grade basketball at least during 1 year out of 4. Playing and knowledge of technical and tactical elements have the greatest influence on the grades. Based on the study results, we can confirm that basketball is an important element of physical education in grammar schools, for both male and female students</dc:description><dc:description xml:lang="sl">Namen raziskave je bil ugotoviti in analizirati poučevanje košarke v gimnazijah, natančneje pogoje dela, vsebino, način in obseg poučevanja košarke ter morebitne razlike med spoloma. Želeli smo tudi preveriti seznanjenost športnih pedagogov s košarkarskimi vsebinami v učnem načrtu in ugotoviti, kolikšen delež šol sodeluje v košarkarskih tekmovanjih. V raziskavo sta bila vključena 202 športna pedagoga z različnih gimnazij. Vprašalnik je ustrezno izpolnilo 90 športnih pedagogov, kar pomeni 45-odstotni delež celotne populacije. Rezultati kažejo, da vsi športni pedagogi vsaj dve leti od štirih poučujejo košarko. Namenijo ji v povprečju 15,3 ure (dijakinje) in 17 (dijaki) ur na leto. Razlike med spoloma so vidne tudi pri posameznih vsebinah, interesu za košarko in udeležbi na šolskih košarkarskih tekmovanjih. Ugotovili smo, da se razlike pojavljajo tudi pri poučevanju košarke pri osnovnem programu in pri programu izbirnih športov. Skoraj vsi športni pedagogi (98 %), ki so sodelovali v anketi, ocenjujejo košarko vsaj eno leto od štirih, ko poučujejo določen oddelek. Glavni vpliv na oceno imata igra in znanje tehnično-taktičnih elementov.
