Effective teaching requires modern approaches, such as contextual and interdisciplinary teaching and the use of digital technology (DT). The interdisciplinary integration of chemistry and fine arts enables a more comprehensive understanding of abstract chemical concepts. The research examined the impact of using DT and artistic approaches in chemistry lessons. In this study, Grade 8 pupils learned about the structure of the atom by using simulations and creating atom models. The research aimed to determine how such approaches affect pupils' understanding, motivation, and participation. The research showed that combining DT and creative methods improves the understanding of the structure of the atom, where creating a model is particularly effective. The research, which was based on quantitative methods, included 88 Grade 8 pupils at the Brežice Elementary School. The findings contribute to a better understanding of the role of ICT, cross-curricular integration, and contextual teaching of chemistry and encourage teachers to incorporate innovative pedagogical approaches to improve the learning process</dc:description><dc:description xml:lang="sl">Cilj vsakega učitelja je zagotoviti kvalitetno poučevanje in s tem ponuditi učencem boljše možnosti za usvajanje učnih vsebin. Učinkovito poučevanje zahteva sodobne pristope, kot sta kontekstno in medpredmetno poučevanje ter uporaba digitalnih tehnologij (DT). Medpredmetno povezovanje kemije in likovne umetnosti omogoča celovitejše razumevanje abstraktnih kemijskih pojmov. Raziskava je preučevala vpliv uporabe DT in umetniških pristopov pri pouku kemije. Pri tem so učenci osmega razreda spoznavali zgradbo atoma z uporabo simulacij ter z izdelavo modelov atomov. Cilj raziskave je bil ugotoviti, kako takšni pristopi vplivajo na razumevanje, motivacijo in sodelovanje učencev. Raziskava je pokazala, da kombinacija DT in ustvarjalnih metod izboljšuje razumevanje zgradbe atoma, pri čemer je bila izdelava modela posebej učinkovita. Raziskava, ki je temeljila na kvantitativni metodi, je vključevala 88 učencev osmega razreda OŠ Brežice.
