The use of a simulator makes it possible to learn rowing technique or to carry out specific rowing training. Currently, several versions of simulators are used in the training process, which are similar to each other, but knowing the differences between them allows to optimise the training process. This paper focuses on the factors that influence the outcome of rowing in a simulator. The first section describes the operation and characteristics of the most commonly used simulators. In the first section we describe the performance and characteristics of the most commonly used simulators. This is followed by a section on physiological limiting factors. The last chapter is devoted to biomechanical meas- ures of rowing performance. Knowing the physiological limiting factors and biomechanical measures of rowing performance allows coaches to optimise the training process in the pursuit of the best possible result</dc:description><dc:description xml:lang="sl">Veslaški simulator je pogosto uporabljeni pripomoček v veslaškem trenažnem procesu. Uporaba simulatorja omogoča učenje veslaške tehnike ali izvajanje specifičnih veslaških treningov. Trenutno se v trenažnem procesu uporablja več različic simulatorjev, pri čemer poznavanje razlik med njimi omogoča optimizacijo trenažnega procesa. Ta prispevek se osredotoča na dejavnike, ki vplivajo na tekmovalni rezultat pri veslanju na simulatorju. V prvem poglavju so opisani delovanje in značilnosti najpogosteje uporabljenih simulatorjev. Sledi poglavje o fizioloških omejitvenih dejavnikih. Zadnje poglavje je posvečeno meram biomehanske učinkovitosti veslanja.
