A multi-purpose character of the project which provides power utilisation of the river Sava and solution to some infrastructure problems is demonstrated. Some characteristic design and construction problems are described for individual stages of the chain from the viewpoint of the civil works designer. The paper finally addresses those environmental aspects of the construction which have raised most interest among the local population"},{"@xml:lang":"sl","#text":"Na odseku reke Save med HE Vrhovo in državno mejo s Hrvaško od leta 2002 potekata gradnja in načrtovanje verige petih hidroelektrarn na lokacijah Boštanj, Blanca, Krško, Brežice in Mokrice. Prikazan je večnamenski vidik trenutno največjega slovenskega energetskega projekta, ki poleg izkoriščanja hidroenergetskega potenciala rešuje tudi nekatere infrastrukturne probleme. Z vidika gradbenega projektanta so navedeni nekateri značilni konstrukcijski in izvedbeni problemi posameznih stopenj verige.
