The role of neighbours is significant in smaller material support and socializing, while it is negligible in other forms of support. However, neighbouring networks have important potential and can be vital for specific groups (for example for older people in general, and widows and widowers specifically). In the article the comparison between 1987 and 2002 was made to determine the changes in role and significance of neighbours in social networks. The conclusion of the article is that the trends are not clear and must be observed in a broader context of changes in the particular time segment"},{"@xml:lang":"sl","#text":"Članek obravnava socialna omrežja starostnikov v Sloveniji, pri čemer izpostavlja pomen sosedov kot članov opornega socialnega omrežja. Pomen sosedov je pomemben predvsem pri nudenju manjše materialne pomoči ter druženju, medtem ko pri drugih oblikah opore sosedje nimajo velike vloge. Vendar pa predstavljajo sosedska omrežja pomemben potencial ter so lahko za specifične skupine izrazitejšega pomena (na primer za starejše na splošno in specifično za vdovce in vdove). V članku je narejena tudi primerjava med letoma 1987 in 2002, na podlagi katere se ugotavljajo spremembe v pomenu in vlogi sosedov v socialnem omrežju.
