Ten phenomena related to temperature, precipitation, and wind were studied using data from Metropolitan station system Olomouc (MESSO) network and Czech Hydrometeorological Institute (CHMI) stations. Extremes were evaluated using percentiles or CHMI criteria. The phenomena varied in frequency and inten-sity. Daily maximum temperatures ? 35 °C were recorded yearly, along with 10 heat waves and tropical nights; tropical days appeared even in May or September. Severe frosts (? –20 °C), cold waves, and off-season frosts were also observed. Daily rain-fall ? 40 mm and long dry periods occurred. Wind gusts varied significantly across city parts. Results confirm that urban station networks are valuable not only for tar-geted measurements but also for identifying the recurring spatial patterns of extreme weather in urban environments</dc:description><dc:description xml:lang="sl">Članek analizira potencialno nevarne meteorološke pojave in njihovo prostorsko-časovno spremenljivost v Olomoucu, srednje velikem srednjeevropskem mestu, v obdobju 2017–2022. Na podlagi podatkov iz omrežja Metropolitan station system Olomouc (MESSO) in postaj CHMI smo proučili deset pojavov, povezanih s tem-peraturo, padavinami in vetrom. Ekstremnost je bila ocenjena z uporabo percentilov ali meril CHMI (Czech Hydrometeorological Institute). Pojavi so se razlikovali po pogostosti in intenzivnosti. Vsako leto so bile zabeležene najvišje dnevne temperature ? 35 °C ter 10 vročinskih valov in tropskih noči; tropski dnevi so se pojavljali tudi maja ali septembra. Opaženi so bili tudi huda pozeba (? –20 °C), hladni valovi in izvensezonska pozeba. Dnevne padavine so znašale ? 40 mm in pojavljala so se dolga sušna obdobja. Sunki vetra so se v posameznih delih mesta zelo razlikovali.
