It traces how their function shifts from symbolic figures to autonomous agents within dramatic action. The discussion is framed by the contemporary “nonhuman turn”, which shifts scholarly focus away from an exclusively human-centred worldview and towards animals, environments and material processes. Through a comparative reading of three plays – Dane Zajc’s Children of the River, Gregor Strniša’s The Dryad and Neža Lučka Peterlin’s The Lamb – the author demonstrates how theatre gradually redefines the relationship between humans and nature. In Zajc’s play, nonhuman figures embody an unattainable ideal of primordial unity, reflecting existential loss and nihilism. In Strniša’s drama, the titular tree spirit, the Dryad, functions as a catalyst, revealing the clash between the materialistic world and the transcendent dimension of imagination. Peterlin’s contemporary play moves further by dismantling anthropocentrism: animals and natural processes appear as independent agents rather than metaphors for human experience. The article concludes that Slovenian drama evolves from using nature as a symbolic background to recognising nonhuman entities as co- creators of dramatic reality, opening new possibilities for ecological and theatrical thinking"},{"@xml:lang":"sl","#text":"Članek obravnava vlogo nečloveških akterjev v slovenski dramatiki 20. in 21. stoletja ter raziskuje, kako se njihova funkcija spreminja od simbolnih figur do samostojnih nosilcev dramskega dogajanja. Avtor izhaja iz sodobnega »obrata k nečloveškemu«, ki v humanistiki preusmerja pozornost z izključno človeškega sveta na živali, naravne procese in materialne entitete. S primerjalno analizo treh dram – Otroka reke Daneta Zajca, Driada Gregorja Strniše in Jagnje Neže Lučke Peterlin – pokaže razvoj odnosa med človekom in naravo na odru. Pri Zajcu sta Dan in Reka alegoriji izgubljene prvobitne enosti in smisla v svetu, zaznamovanem z nihilizmom. Pri Strniši Driada ne deluje več kot ideal, temveč kot katalizator, ki razkriva konflikt med materialističnim svetom in presežno razsežnostjo domišljije. Najmlajša drama, Jagnje, pa presega antropocentrično perspektivo: živali in naravni procesi niso več simboli človeških stanj, temveč enakovredni akterji, katerih obstoj ni podrejen človeku. Članek pokaže, da slovenska drama postopno prehaja od narave kot metafore k naravi kot samostojni realnosti, s čimer odpira nove možnosti gledališke reprezentacije in ekološkega mišljenja"}],"edm:type":"TEXT","dc:type":[{"@xml:lang":"sl","#text":"znanstveno časopisje"},{"@xml:lang":"en","#text":"journals"},{"@rdf:resource":"http://www.wikidata.org/entity/Q361785"}]},"ore:Aggregation":{"@rdf:about":"http://www.dlib.si/?URN=URN:NBN:SI:doc-GGR41WZ9","edm:aggregatedCHO":{"@rdf:resource":"URN:NBN:SI:doc-GGR41WZ9"},"edm:isShownBy":{"@rdf:resource":"http://www.dlib.si/stream/URN:NBN:SI:doc-GGR41WZ9/4f8eced2-d114-4a8f-a398-f89e4d999169/PDF"},"edm:rights":{"@rdf:resource":"http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0/"},"edm:provider":"Slovenian National E-content Aggregator","edm:intermediateProvider":{"@xml:lang":"en","#text":"National and University Library of Slovenia"},"edm:dataProvider":{"@xml:lang":"sl","#text":"Slovenski gledališki inštitut (SLOGI)"},"edm:object":{"@rdf:resource":"http://www.dlib.si/streamdb/URN:NBN:SI:doc-GGR41WZ9/maxi/edm"},"edm:isShownAt":{"@rdf:resource":"http://www.dlib.si/details/URN:NBN:SI:doc-GGR41WZ9"}}}}
