It was marked by problems with the administration of the sacraments, marital infidelity, the clergy engaging in activities inappropriate to their profession, and the role of the feudal lords in church affairs. Parallel to the internal religious reform, churches and their furnishings and artistic creations were renovated in the Mannerist and early Baroque styles. The activities of the parish were linked to the management of church property within the feudal system. The informations were collected by visitors (the princbishops of Ljubljana) through interviews with parish priests, vicars, sacristans, church-wardens, neighbors, and individuals involved in the affairsNa primeru župnije Gorje je predstavljen preplet prizadevanj svetnih incerkvenih oblasti za prenovo in stabilizacijo katoliškega verskega življenja v 17. stoletju. Zaznamovale so ga problematika podeljevanja zakramentov, zakonske nezvestobe posameznikov, ukvarjanje duhovščine s poklicu neprimernimi opravili in vloga fevdalne gosposke v cerkvenih zadevah. Vzporedno z notranjo versko prenovo je potekala prenova cerkva in njihove opreme ter umetniških stvaritev v manierističnem in zgodnjebaročnem slogu. Dejavnost župnije je bila povezana z upravljanjem cerkvenega premoženja v okvirih fevdalne ureditve.
