The first noteworthy Slovenia publications from the field of prosthetics and orthotics are listed, which were published during and after the World War I. The developments during and after the World War II are also described, together with education and international co-operations in the field of prosthetics and orthotics from the beginnings until the presentČeprav se slovenska zgodovina protetike z železno roko z Vranskega (16. st.) in Jožetom Veršičem (1775-1847) začne že pred 20. stoletjem, smatramo za uradni začetek slovenske ortopedske tehnike oziroma protetike ustanovitev Državne protezne delavnice v Ljubljani 1. marca 1919.
