The goals of lifelong learning cannot be determined in the absence of an integrated approach to the content of different courses or, in other words, without cross-curricular integration. Cross-curricular integration requires a lot of professional cooperation from teachers, but also some changes in the organisation of classes. The use of modern didactic methods and approaches together with increased student activity in classrooms, make the standard forty-five minute class too short. A solution to a different organisation of classes is offered by the legal possibility of introducing a flexible curriculum schedule. Peer observations encourage cooperation among teachers in finding, planning and implementing cross-curricular connections through which the examples of good practice are shared. This paper describes some of the cross-curricular connections and reflects on the ways in which these peer observations could be set up in order to achieve their purpose, i. e. professional teacher growth. The examples that have been put into practice at our school have helped us improve classroom work and efforts for the lifelong learning of students and teachers"},{"@xml:lang":"sl","#text":"Kompetenca, ki jo opredeljujemo kot cilj osnovnošolskega izobraževanja, je usposobiti učence za vseživljenjsko učenje. Ciljev vseživljenjskega učenja si ni mogoče zastaviti brez celostne obravnave učnih vsebin različnih predmetov oziroma brez medpredmetnega povezovanja. Medpredmetno povezovanje zahteva od učiteljev veliko profesionalnega sodelovanja, pa tudi drugačno organizacijo pouka. Zaradi uporabe sodobnih didaktičnih metod in oblik ter večje aktivnosti učencev pri pouku postane petinštiridesetminutna šolska ura prekratka. Rešitev za drugačno organizacijo pouka nam ponuja zakonska možnost uporabe fleksibilnega predmetnika. Medsebojne hospitacije spodbujajo sodelovanje med učitelji pri iskanju, načrtovanju in izvedbi medpredmetnih povezav, preko katerih širimo primere dobre prakse pri pouku. V prispevku opisujem nekaj medpredmetnih povezav in razmišljam o tem, kako zastaviti medsebojne hospitacije, da bodo dosegle svoj namen, to je profesionalno rast učiteljev.
