Based on a review of the scientific literature, it can be estimated that already at a heart rate of 80% of the maximum value there are changes in the execution of the shot and a deterioration in its accuracy (performance). A review of the research also shows that heart rate values in a game exceed 80% of the maximum heart rate for more than 70% of the playing time. This means that most of the shots are made in this (critical) heart rate zone and that the shooting performance (and playing performance generally) can be significantly impaired due to basketball players not being well prepared in terms of endurance. It is thus very important for basketball players to develop an adequate level of aerobic and anaerobic endurance to delay the onset of fatigue and its negative effect on the shot. Coaches must therefore be well aware of the importance of endurance training, while adapting the training of the shot to the demands and conditions of the game, and also performing it in conditions of submaximal and maximal fatigue</dc:description><dc:description xml:lang="sl">Serijo člankov o metu na koš, ki smo jo začeli v lanski prvi številki revije Šport, nadaljujemo s prispevkom o vplivu dalj časa trajajočega telesnega napora in utrujenosti na izvedbo in uspešnost pri metu v košarki. Na podlagi pregleda znanstvene literature lahko ocenimo, da se že pri 80 % maksimalne vrednosti srčnega utripa pojavijo spremembe v izvedbi meta in poslabša njegova natančnost (uspešnost). Pregled raziskav kaže tudi, da vrednosti srčnega utripa na tekmi presegajo 80 % maksimalnega srčnega utripa več kot 70 % igralnega časa. To pomeni, da večino metov izvedemo v tem (kritičnem) območju srčnega utripa in da se uspešnost meta (ter igralna uspešnost na splošno) lahko precej zniža zaradi slabše pripravljenosti košarkarjev v smislu vzdržljivosti. Zato je zelo pomembna ustrezna raven aerobne in anaerobne vzdržljivosti košarkarjev, s čimer lahko pripomorejo k temu, da se utrujenost in njen negativni učinek na met pojavita pozneje.
