Due to the growing cycling traffic and consequently new possibilities of expanding tourist activities, the municipality of Šentilj has started to develop a sustainable cycling infrastructure in its region. One of the first investments into the new cycling infrastructure will be the new bridge over the Mura River in Ceršak, which will also become the first permanent connection between the two countries over the Mura River. The bridge is designed as a suspended timber-steel structure (suspension bridge) over a single span of 86,0 m in length, with no supports in the riverbedV prispevku je predstavljen projekt bodočega mostu za pešce in kolesarje čez mejno reko Muro pri Ceršaku, ki bo zgrajen v okviru mednarodne kolesarske povezave Ceršak%Oberschwarza med občinama Šentilj v Sloveniji in Murfeld v Avstriji. Občina Šentilj je zaradi rastočega kolesarskega prometa in posledično možnosti širjenja turističnih dejavnosti pristopila k trajnostnemu razvoju kolesarske infrastrukture na območju občine, v okviru katere namerava, kot eno prvih investicij, zgraditi tudi novi most čez reko Muro, ki bo tako postal prva stalna povezava obeh držav v toku reke Mure.
