The paper examines the reason for the change and some of its effects</dc:description><dc:description xml:lang="sl">V obdobju, ki zajema približno zadnjih 350 let, se je horizontalno razporejanje notnih znakov in pavz spremenilo. Način, pri katerem prevladuje načelo enakomerne razporeditve simbolov (najbolj ekonomičen način z ozirom na prostor), je zamenjal drugi, kjer je odločilno natančno vertikalno podpisovanje glasbeno sovpadajočih simbolov, v manjši meri pa prenos časovnega trajanja na horizontalo.
