The most concerning are threats of collisions with wires and electrocutions on power poles, but they can be minimized by considering both technical and ornithological factors in the planning and maintenance process. Najbolj zaskrbljujoča je nevarnost trkov ptic z žicami in električnih udarov ptic na stebrih, a jo lahko v velikimeri odpravimo s poznavanjem in upoštevanjem ornitoloških ter tehnoloških okoliščin pri načrtovanju novih in vzdrževanju že obstoječih daljnovodov.
