Fly ash particles were successfully dispersed in the Al alloy matrix by stir casting and uniform micrscopic distribution of fly asch particles was observed in a varietys of small castings. The addition of precipitator fly ash into aluminium increases the hardness of the casting and improves their application potencial. The elastic modulus of aluminium casting increases as the volume percentage of fly ash increases. Fly ash signigcantly increases the abrasive wear resistance of cast alluminium alloys. This is due to the presence of hard aluminosilicate fly ash particles.
