An analysis of the hurdle clearing technique was conducted during the international 2011 IAAF World Challenge in Zagreb, Croatia. The 3-D kinematic analysis method was applied. Data processing was performed by APAS (Ariel Performance Analysis System). A 15-segment model of the athlete's body, defined with 17 reference points, was digitalised. The study results showed extreme rationality of the hurdle clearing technique, which was reflected in the time interval from push-off to landing behind the hurdle (0.31 sec), short contact times of the push-off phase (0.10 sec) in front of the hurdle and of the landing phase behind the hurdle (0.09 sec), a low parabola of the flight of the body's centre of gravity (0.25 m), a minimum decline in horizontal velocity and an effective transition from hurdle clearing to sprinting between hurdles. The established biomechanical characteristics can be applied for creating a modernised running model for women's 100-metre hurdles"},{"@xml:lang":"sl","#text":"Namen študije je bil ugotoviti in analizirati biomehanske značilnosti prehoda 6. ovire pri teku na 100 m ovire olimpijske zmagovalke in svetovne prvakinje Sally Pearson. Analizo tehnike prehoda ovire smo opravili na mednarodni tekmi IAAF World Challenge - Zagreb 2011. Uporabljena je bila metoda 3-D kinematične analize. V postopku obdelave podatkov je bil uporabljen računalniški sistem APAS (Ariel Performance Analysis System). Izvedena je bila digitalizacija 15-segmentnega modela telesa atletinje, ki je bil definiran s 17 referenčnimi točkami. Rezultati študije so pokazali izjemno racionalnost tehnike prehoda ovire, ki se kaže v časovnem intervalu od odriva do doskoka za oviro (0.31 sekunde), v kratkih kontaktnih časih faze odriva (0.10 sekunde) pred oviro in doskoka za oviro (0.09 sekunde), nizki paraboli leta skupnega težišča (0.25 m), minimalnem zmanjšanju horizontalne hitrosti in učinkoviti tranziciji prehoda ovire v sprint med ovirami.
