The electromagnetic waves, as a tool of research, are sent by the transmitting antenna into the investigated material. By means of the GPR, 12 profiles of the Triglav glacier were successfully scanned. The maximum thickness of the measured ice was 9,5 meters. On the basis of the GPR measurements, the volume of the glacier was calculated, amounting to about 35,000 m3 in the year 2000Georadar je nedestruktivna elektromagnetna geofizikalna metoda za raziskovanje, pregledovanje in opazovanje (prekritih) materialov. Raziskovalno orodje so elektromagnetni valovi, ki jih oddajna antena pošilja v preiskovan material. Na Triglavskem ledeniku smo z georadarjem uspešno posneli 12 prerezov. Največja izmerjena debelina ledu je 9,5m.
