It is based on historical journalistic and newspaper material as well as scholarly literature. From the very beginning, Slovenians looked at Bulgarians and Bulgaria. Anton Bezenšek, the \"father of Bulgarian shorthand\", played a major role in this, and from the time he settled in Sofia in 1879 he worked passionately for South Slavic and especially Slovene-Bulgarian rapprochement. In Slovenia they followed all the important stages of Bulgarian development and strengthened cultural, artistic, social and other contacts between Slovenians and Bulgarians. There was a favourable attitude towards Bulgaria and the Bulgarians, and they also expressed their desire for rapprochement with the neighbouring Slavic nation in the Balkans"},{"@xml:lang":"sl","#text":"Prispevek obravnava poglede kulturnih in znanstvenih delavcev ter slovenske politike na Bolgare in Bolgarijo od šestdesetih let 19. stoletja do druge svetovne vojne. Pri tem je imel veliko vlogo \"oče bolgarske stenografije\" Anton Bezenšek, ki je od nastanitve v Sofiji leta 1879 vneto deloval za južnoslovansko in posebej slovensko-bolgarsko zbližanje. Na Slovenskem so sledili vsem pomembnim stopnjam v bolgarskem razvoju in krepili kulturnoumetniške, društvene in druge stike med Slovenci in Bolgari.
