From the medieval and renaissance corona (wreath), a cyclic form of interconnected sonnets of arbitrary lenght, the Sienna Academy developed a highly demanding form called corona di sonetti (a wreath of sonnets), which was adopted by Slovenian romantic poet France Prešeren (1800-1849), and to which he added an acrostic. This study treats the form as the high point of Prešeren's poetry and highlights the properties specific to his poetics, above all his fruitful adoption of Ronace verse forms. In the repertoire of Prešeren's rhythms and euphony, the exclusive use of feminine verse endings in iambic pentameters and strictness of rhyme suggest high poetry. This Slovenian romantic poet was the first European poet to infuse the complicated versifying game of the Sienna Academy with genuine artistic ardour and elevate it, in terms of the cogency of the idea, to the level of a mythic form, reserved for the most profound poetic message. Under the influence of the Korsh's Russian translation of Prešeren's Wreath of Sonnets. the form quickly gained recognition first in Russian and then other Slavic literatures and beyond. Slovenian poet France Prešeren therefore played a pivotal role in the historical development and international recognition of the wreath of donnets as an art form</dc:description><dc:description xml:lang="sl">Avtor analizira sonetni venec v zgodovinskem kontekstu razvoja soneta in sonetnik ciklov, ki izvirajo iz narave same sonetne oblike. Slovenski romantik dr. France Prešeren ima torej bistvene zasluge pri zgodovinskem razvoju in mednarodni uveljavitvi pesniške oblike sonetnega venca</dc:description><edm:type>TEXT</edm:type><dc:type xml:lang="sl">znanstveno časopisje</dc:type><dc:type xml:lang="en">journals</dc:type><dc:type rdf:resource="http://www.wikidata.org/entity/Q361785" /></edm:ProvidedCHO><ore:Aggregation rdf:about="http://www.dlib.si/?URN=URN:NBN:SI:doc-ESGXDCUI"><edm:aggregatedCHO rdf:resource="URN:NBN:SI:doc-ESGXDCUI" /><edm:isShownBy rdf:resource="http://www.dlib.si/stream/URN:NBN:SI:doc-ESGXDCUI/e2d00654-7fe9-4de3-8a08-2b15cdf2f897/PDF" /><edm:rights rdf:resource="http://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/" /><edm:provider>Slovenian National E-content Aggregator</edm:provider><edm:dataProvider xml:lang="en">National and University Library of Slovenia</edm:dataProvider><edm:object rdf:resource="http://www.dlib.si/streamdb/URN:NBN:SI:doc-ESGXDCUI/maxi/edm" /><edm:isShownAt rdf:resource="http://www.dlib.si/details/URN:NBN:SI:doc-ESGXDCUI" /></ore:Aggregation></rdf:RDF>
