Etnographic descriptions of processes of renewal of residence permits and access to social rights of four families illustrate this indirect violence, embedded in the functioning of institutions and society as a whole. Findings from ethnographic material show how migrants struggle to meet their basic needs due to the legally prescribed uncertainty of temporary residence permits, the chain dependency of residence and social rights, and the lack of societal support. The conditionality and temporariness of their legal status place them in a subordinate and precarious position which deterioates their health. The article concludes with some practical proposals to reduce such violence</dc:description><dc:description xml:lang="sl">Součinkovanje migracijske zakonodaje z zakonodajo o državljanstvu, trgu dela in socialnem varstvu v vsakdanjem življenju priseljenk iz tretjih držav, ki v Sloveniji delajo kot nizko kvalificirane delavke, deluje kot mehanizem strukturnega nasilja. V sklepnem delu je navedenih nekaj praktičnih predlogov za zmanjšanje takšnega nasilja</dc:description><edm:type>TEXT</edm:type><dc:type xml:lang="sl">znanstveno časopisje</dc:type><dc:type xml:lang="en">journals</dc:type><dc:type rdf:resource="http://www.wikidata.org/entity/Q361785" /></edm:ProvidedCHO><ore:Aggregation rdf:about="http://www.dlib.si/?URN=URN:NBN:SI:doc-EG8LNO2D"><edm:aggregatedCHO rdf:resource="URN:NBN:SI:doc-EG8LNO2D" /><edm:isShownBy rdf:resource="http://www.dlib.si/stream/URN:NBN:SI:doc-EG8LNO2D/cf53fc30-1f53-4e06-b81c-18ab4da2f800/PDF" /><edm:rights rdf:resource="http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0/" /><edm:provider>Slovenian National E-content Aggregator</edm:provider><edm:intermediateProvider xml:lang="en">National and University Library of Slovenia</edm:intermediateProvider><edm:dataProvider xml:lang="sl">Univerza v Ljubljani, Fakulteta za socialno delo</edm:dataProvider><edm:object rdf:resource="http://www.dlib.si/streamdb/URN:NBN:SI:doc-EG8LNO2D/maxi/edm" /><edm:isShownAt rdf:resource="http://www.dlib.si/details/URN:NBN:SI:doc-EG8LNO2D" /></ore:Aggregation></rdf:RDF>
