It is divided in three parts. The first part attempts to identify the term "convergence" and explores the challenges that it poses to European policy makers. Part two assesses the extent to which traditional communications regulation models are applicable across digital communication outlets in the age of the converging value chain as well as the balance between competition law and sector-specificregulation to be adopted. In particular, it explores the importance of competition regulation and sector-specific media ownership and content restrictions and assesses whether they continue to occupy an importantplace in the new era. The third part puts forward proposals for introducing fresh rules to maximise the benefits of the digital convergence interms of growth of industry and consumer access and choice</dc:description><dc:description xml:lang="sl">Namen članka je oceniti vpliv prihajajoče multimedijske konvergence na komunikacijsko regulacijo v Evropi in predlagati ustrezen regulacijski okvir v digitalnem univerzumu. Tretji del predlaga nova pravila za maksimiranje prednosti digitalne konvergence z vidika razvoja industrije ter dostopa in izbire potrošnikov</dc:description><edm:type>TEXT</edm:type><dc:type xml:lang="sl">znanstveno časopisje</dc:type><dc:type xml:lang="en">journals</dc:type><dc:type rdf:resource="http://www.wikidata.org/entity/Q361785" /></edm:ProvidedCHO><ore:Aggregation rdf:about="http://www.dlib.si/?URN=URN:NBN:SI:doc-DSTVAHL7"><edm:aggregatedCHO rdf:resource="URN:NBN:SI:doc-DSTVAHL7" /><edm:isShownBy rdf:resource="http://www.dlib.si/stream/URN:NBN:SI:doc-DSTVAHL7/1ca75f21-d7b6-43af-b6b0-a6d7c6ae47db/PDF" /><edm:rights rdf:resource="http://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/" /><edm:provider>Slovenian National E-content Aggregator</edm:provider><edm:intermediateProvider xml:lang="en">National and University Library of Slovenia</edm:intermediateProvider><edm:dataProvider xml:lang="sl">Evropski inštitut za komuniciranje in kulturo - EURICOM</edm:dataProvider><edm:object rdf:resource="http://www.dlib.si/streamdb/URN:NBN:SI:doc-DSTVAHL7/maxi/edm" /><edm:isShownAt rdf:resource="http://www.dlib.si/details/URN:NBN:SI:doc-DSTVAHL7" /></ore:Aggregation></rdf:RDF>
