The paper presents the research carried out among 205 children of the fourth class of eight-year primary school and the fifth class of nine-year primary school. We investigated the factor structure (types) of parental involvement in education of their children, and its relation to child's gender, academic achievements and parental education. The Questionnaire about parental involvement - for primary-school children was used. The results showed that involvement has to be studied in relation to gender, school success and parental education level. Some types of involvement are more typical for girls than for boys, for more academically successful children than for less successful children, and for children of more educated parents than for children of less educated parents</dc:description><dc:description xml:lang="sl">Številne raziskave so skušale dokazati obstoj povezav med vpletenostjo staršev v šolanje njihovega otroka in otrokovim učnim uspehom, njegovimi pričakovanji učnih dosežkov, oblikovanjem poklicnih želja in morebitnimi vedenjskimi težavami. V prispevku predstavljamo raziskavo, v kateri je sodelovalo 205 otrok, ki so obiskovali 4. razred osemletne oz. 5. razred devetletne osnovne šole. Preučevali smo faktorsko strukturo (vrste) vpletenosti staršev v šolanje ter učinek spola, učnega uspeha in izobrazbe staršev na posamezne vrste vpletenosti. Uporabili smo Vprašalnik o vpletenosti staršev v šolanje njihovega otroka - vprašalnik za osnovnošolce. Rezultati kažejo, da je bolj kot vpletenost v celoti smiselno obravnavati posamezne vrste vpletenosti, saj je raven posameznih vrst različna glede na spol, učni uspeh in izobrazbo staršev.
