As part of the Yugoslav Army it was involved in the final operations for the liberation of Yugoslavia. It comprised the Southern Group, which was given the task to advance in the direction Gospic-Otocac-Senj-Rijeka-Trieste towards the Isonzo River and Carinthia. The additional task was, in cooperation with the northern group of the Yugoslav liberation forces, which consisted of the 1st and 3rd Army, to surround the bulk of the enemy forces in the area Triest-Klagenfurt-Maribor-Zagreb and force them to surrender, which would facilitate the progress of the Anglo-American troops advancing from Italy and the penetration of the Red Army through Austria. The 4th Army liberated the north-western part of Yugoslavia (Lika, Croatian Littoral, Gorski Kotar, Istria, Slovene Littoral, Trieste, part of Carniola and Carinthia up to Klagenfurt). The author limited his study to the liberation of Slovene Littoral and Trieste. Special emphasis is given to the role of the IX Corps, which was a subordinate of the 4th Army during the final operations for the liberation of Yugoslavia</dc:description><dc:description xml:lang="sl">Prispevek obravnava vojaške operacije in bojno pot jugoslovanske 4. armade, ki je bila ustanovljena 2. marca 1945. Še posebej je poudarjena vloga 9. korpusa, ki je bil v zaključnih operacijah za osvoboditev Jugoslavije podrejen 4. armadi</dc:description><edm:type>TEXT</edm:type><dc:type xml:lang="sl">znanstveno časopisje</dc:type><dc:type xml:lang="en">journals</dc:type><dc:type rdf:resource="http://www.wikidata.org/entity/Q361785" /></edm:ProvidedCHO><ore:Aggregation rdf:about="http://www.dlib.si/?URN=URN:NBN:SI:doc-DD7CATS7"><edm:aggregatedCHO rdf:resource="URN:NBN:SI:doc-DD7CATS7" /><edm:isShownBy rdf:resource="http://www.dlib.si/stream/URN:NBN:SI:doc-DD7CATS7/2dd0194adfa274a37eb12ef-42260-008e--/PDF" /><edm:rights rdf:resource="http://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/" /><edm:provider>Slovenian National E-content Aggregator</edm:provider><edm:intermediateProvider xml:lang="en">National and University Library of Slovenia</edm:intermediateProvider><edm:dataProvider xml:lang="sl">Zgodovinsko društvo dr.
