After the amendments entered into force, they were defined as legal persons governed by public law, whereby the legislation failed to determine their legal and organisational form. In the first part of the article, the case of the Student Organisation of the University of Ljubljana is discussed, namely how the amendments of the legislation pertaining to the definition of the status of student organisations impact their operations. In the second part of the article, an exception included in the Non-Governmental Organisations Act is presented, which allows entities to be awarded the status of non-governmental organisation operating in the public interest also if they were established by student organisations as legal persons governed by public law. The impact of the exception on the operations of the Student Organisation of the University of Ljubljana is also addressedŠtudentske organizacije so pred uveljavitvijo sprememb Zakona o skupnosti študentov v letu 2019 poslovale kot pravne osebe zasebnega prava, po uveljavitvi sprememb pa so opredeljene kot pravne osebe javnega prava, pri čemer zakonodaja ne določa njihove pravnoorganizacijske oblike. V prvem delu prispevka je na primeru Študentske organizacije Univerze v Ljubljani obravnavan vpliv sprememb zakonodaje v zvezi z opredelitvijo statusa študentskih organizacij na njihovo poslovanje. V drugem delu prispevka pa sta predstavljena izjema v Zakonu o nevladnih organizacijah, ki dopušča, da pridobijo status nevladne organizacije v javnem interesu tudi subjekti, ki jih ustanovijo študentske organizacije kot pravne osebe javnega prava, in vpliv te izjeme na poslovanje Študentske organizacije Univerze v LjubljaniTEXTznanstveno časopisjejournalsSlovenian National E-content AggregatorNational and University Library of Slovenia
