To provide the correct transmission of the forces it must be manufactured appropriately and must be comfortable for the patient. There are many types of sockets and they can be made from different materials. We created a flexible socket out of silicone, and compared that process with the manufacturing process of thermoplastic socket. We also evaluated patient satisfaction with both sockets. Methods: We compared the manufacturing process for both sockets. To assess satisfaction with the prosthesis, we used the Quebec User Evaluation of Satisfaction with Assistive Technology questionnaire. For assessment of satisfaction, we used the Prosthetic Socket Fit Comfort Score scale. We also measured the flexibility of the hip joint with two sockets. Results: Both sockets were manufactured in a similar procedure, the difference is in the time of manufacturing. The patient saw the biggest difference in the comfort of the socket made of silicon. The patient also made the largest flexion movement with the flexible silicon socket. Conclusion: Custom-made silicone socket is more comfortable than the standard prosthetic sockets. Izdelano mora biti tako, da omogoča pravilen prenos sil in da je za pacienta udobno. V nasprotnem primeru lahko pride do okvare tkiv oziroma pacient protezo uporablja manj časa ali pa sploh ne. Poznamo različne oblike ležišča. Za paciente po transfemoralni amputaciji so najprej izdelovali proteze s štirioglatim ležiščem. V 80. letih prejšnjega stoletja je bilo razvito prečno ožje ležišče. Danes poznamo več različic prečno ožjega ležišča. Poleg različnih oblik so na voljo tudi različni materiali in načini za izdelavo ležišč. Ležišča za transfemoralne proteze so najpogosteje izdelane iz poliestrske smole, lahko tudi epoksi smole ali fleksibilnih termoplastičnih materialov, okrepljenih z laminiranim ogrodjem. Želeli smo izdelati fleksibilno ležišče iz silikona, postopek izdelave primerjati s postopkom izdelave ležišča iz termoplastičnega materiala, oceniti in primerjati zadovoljstvo pacienta z obema ležiščema ter primerjati gibljivost v kolčnem sklepu. Metode: Postopek izdelave notranjega fleksibilnega ležišča iz silikona smo primerjali s postopkom izdelave fleksibilnega ležišča iz termoplastičnega materiala. Primerjali smo število posameznih faz izdelave in trajanje posamezne faze. Za oceno zadovoljstva pacienta s protezo smo uporabili Quebeški vprašalnik o zadovoljstvu s pripomočkom. Pacient je polega tega ocenil še udobnost obeh ležišč z Vprašalnikom za oceno udobnosti ležišča. Na številčni lestvici od 0 do 10 je podal tudi splošno oceno zadovoljstva s protezo in oceno, koliko ur dnevno je uporabljal protezo. S kotomerom smo izmerili gibljivost v kolčnem sklepu z nameščenim ležiščem iz termoplastičnega materiala in ležiščem iz silikona. Rezultati: Izdelava fleksibilnega ležišča iz silikona in fleksibilnega ležišča iz termoplastičnih materialov poteka po enakem postopku. Pri izvedbi posameznih faz izdelave fleksibilnega ležišča iz silikona smo našli razlike v času izdelave. Pacient je pri odgovorih na vprašanja v Quebeškem vprašalniku o zadovoljstvu s pripomočkom poročal, da so zanj najbolj pomembni dejavniki udobje proteze, njena teža in trajnost. Pri primerjavi obeh ležišč je menil, da je največja razlika prav v oceni udobnosti ležišča. Meritve obsega gibanja v kolčnem sklepu so pokazale, da pacient s silikonskim ležiščem kolčni sklep pokrči za 15° več kot s protezo, ki ima ležišče iz termoplastičnega materiala.
