The diverse range of topics covered in English lessons to achieve this goal also enables various pathways that enhance pupils' knowledge retention and increase their motivation for learning. The article presents the implementation of the topic \"Research\" with Grade 9 pupils, where they developed their digital competence according to the Digital Competence Framework for Citizens (DigComp 2.2), specifically, developing digital content with the goal of learning vocabulary and language structures related to the topic \"Research\". As the central activity for acquiring new learning content, pupils used the graphic design platform Canva to create a digital poster for the first time. The poster served as a basis for a discussion among peers, who evaluated the product according to collaboratively established criteria. Additionally, in the knowledge assessment phase, pupils created online crossword puzzles, which they shared with each other using QR codes. The correctness of the solutions was linked to the achievement of the learning goal of expanding their vocabulary related to our topic. Finally, the pupils used a self-evaluation questionnaire, a data collection method where objectives were stated to identify the level of their acquired skills in both content and digital domains. As part of the data processing method, we also interpreted the results. Most pupils selfassessed their performance with the highest rating in both evaluated areas. The aim of the article is to highlight the challenges and opportunities of integrating digital competencies into foreign language teaching through digital technology. This case study demonstrates how the use of modern technologies can effectively address subject objectives while enhancing pupils' digital competencies. The article is primarily intended for teachers of foreign languages in the third cycle of primary education"},{"@xml:lang":"sl","#text":"Pouk tujega jezika temelji na sporazumevalni jezikovni zmožnosti učenca, ki jo kot eno izmed splošnih ciljev predvideva učni načrt angleščine v osnovnošolskem izobraževanju. Pestra množica tem, ki jih z namenom doseganja tega cilja tekom pouka angleščine obravnavamo, hkrati odpira tudi različne poti, s pomočjo katerih je znanje učencev trajnejše in so za pridobivanje le-tega bolj motivirani. V prispevku bo predstavljena obravnava teme \"Research\" pri devetošolcih, kjer so učenci razvijali digitalno kompetenco Okvirja digitalnih kompetenc za državljane DigComp 2.2, in sicer razvoj digitalnih vsebin s predmetnim ciljem spoznavanja besedišča in jezikovnih struktur na temo \"Research\". Učenci so kot osrednjo aktivnost pri usvajanju novih učnih vsebin z orodjem za vizualno predstavitev Canva prvič pripravili digitalni plakat, ki je predstavljal osnovo za diskusijo s sošolcem, ki je pripravljen izdelek skladno s skupaj pripravljenimi kriteriji vrednotil. Med drugim so v fazi preverjanja pridobljenega novega znanja učenci pripravili spletne križanke, ki so jih s pomočjo ustvarjenih QR-kod delili med seboj. Pravilnost rešitev je bila izražena v povezavi z usvojitvijo cilja glede razširitve besedišča o temi, ki smo jo obravnavali. Na koncu so učenci s pomočjo samoevalvacijskega vprašalnika, tj. metoda zbiranja podatkov, kjer so bili navedeni cilji, opredelili raven svojih usvojenih znanj tako na vsebinskem področju kot tudi na digitalnem. V sklopu metode obdelave podatkov pa smo rezultate še interpretirali. Večina učencev se je pri obeh preverjanih področjih samoovrednotila z najvišjo oceno. Cilj prispevka je osvetliti izzive in priložnosti vključevanja digitalnih kompetenc v pouk tujih jezikov skozi razvoj sporazumevalne zmožnosti s pomočjo digitalne tehnologije. Tovrsten primer predstavlja način, kako lahko z uporabo sodobnih tehnologij naslovimo cilje predmeta in dvigujemo raven digitalnih kompetenc učencev.
