This border has been experienced as a source of permanent anxiety and displacement, acquiring the status of a chronotope in the Bakhtinian sense. The city's eccentric position has frequently resulted in Trieste being personified or emerging as an overwhelming presence in its literature. Local authors have experienced the city "from within", as superimposed, "merged" with their "Selves". My discussion includes the canonic author Italo Svevo and focuses in particular on the contemporary Stelio Mattioni and his novel Il richiamo di Alma (1980)</dc:description><edm:type>TEXT</edm:type><dc:type xml:lang="sl">znanstveno časopisje</dc:type><dc:type xml:lang="en">journals</dc:type><dc:type rdf:resource="http://www.wikidata.org/entity/Q361785" /></edm:ProvidedCHO><ore:Aggregation rdf:about="http://www.dlib.si/?URN=URN:NBN:SI:doc-C67UVD6H"><edm:aggregatedCHO rdf:resource="URN:NBN:SI:doc-C67UVD6H" /><edm:isShownBy rdf:resource="http://www.dlib.si/stream/URN:NBN:SI:doc-C67UVD6H/fba06d80-a529-4edc-b68b-8720bc4f7a61/PDF" /><edm:rights rdf:resource="http://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/" /><edm:provider>Slovenian National E-content Aggregator</edm:provider><edm:dataProvider xml:lang="en">National and University Library of Slovenia</edm:dataProvider><edm:object rdf:resource="http://www.dlib.si/streamdb/URN:NBN:SI:doc-C67UVD6H/maxi/edm" /><edm:isShownAt rdf:resource="http://www.dlib.si/details/URN:NBN:SI:doc-C67UVD6H" /></ore:Aggregation></rdf:RDF>
