These compounds play a vital role in maintaining skin health, regulating cell proliferation and diff erentiation, and supporting immune function. In dermatology and cosmetics, retinoids are extensively used for their effi cacy in promoting collagen synthesis, accelerating epidermal turnover, and improving skin texture, tone, and pigmentation. Despite their benefi ts, vitamin A compounds can induce both systemic and local toxicity when used improperly. Topical application, though generally safer, can still cause retinoid dermatitis which disrupts the skin’s barrier function. These eff ects arise from interactions with nuclear receptors (RAR and RXR), which infl uence gene expression. Due to their high biological activity and the risk of systemic absorption, particularly in pregnant women, strict concentration limits have been set by regulatory authorities to ensure safe use in cosmetic and therapeutic products"},{"@xml:lang":"sl","#text":"Vitamin A predstavlja skupino lipidotopnih spojin, znanih kot retinoidi, ki vključujejo naravne in sintetične oblike. Te spojine imajo ključno vlogo pri ohranjanju zdravja kože, uravnavanju celične proliferacije in diferenciacije ter podpori imunskega sistema. V dermatologiji in kozmetiki so retinoidi široko uporabljeni zaradi svoje učinkovitosti pri spodbujanju sinteze kolagena, pospeševanju epidermalne obnove ter izboljševanju teksture, tona in pigmentacije kože. Kljub številnim koristim lahko nepravilna uporaba povzroči lokalno ali sistemsko toksičnost. Tudi topikalna uporaba, čeprav običajno varnejša, lahko povzroči retinoidni dermatitis, kar oslabi kožno bariero. Ti učinki so povezani z vezavo retinoidov na jedrne receptorje (RAR in RXR), kar vpliva na izražanje genov. Zaradi visoke biološke aktivnosti in možnosti sistemske absorpcije, zlasti pri nosečnicah, so regulatorni organi določili najvišje dovoljene koncentracije retinoidov v kozmetičnih in terapevtskih izdelkih, da bi preprečili tveganje za toksičnost"}],"edm:type":"TEXT","dc:type":[{"@xml:lang":"sl","#text":"znanstveno časopisje"},{"@xml:lang":"en","#text":"journals"},{"@rdf:resource":"http://www.wikidata.org/entity/Q361785"}]},"ore:Aggregation":{"@rdf:about":"http://www.dlib.si/?URN=URN:NBN:SI:doc-C199E1Z7","edm:aggregatedCHO":{"@rdf:resource":"URN:NBN:SI:doc-C199E1Z7"},"edm:isShownBy":{"@rdf:resource":"http://www.dlib.si/stream/URN:NBN:SI:doc-C199E1Z7/a38e3173-1ae1-4b4b-873e-76866cbc84b7/PDF"},"edm:rights":{"@rdf:resource":"http://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"},"edm:provider":"Slovenian National E-content Aggregator","edm:dataProvider":{"@xml:lang":"en","#text":"National and University Library of Slovenia"},"edm:object":{"@rdf:resource":"http://www.dlib.si/streamdb/URN:NBN:SI:doc-C199E1Z7/maxi/edm"},"edm:isShownAt":{"@rdf:resource":"http://www.dlib.si/details/URN:NBN:SI:doc-C199E1Z7"}}}}
