Based on the example of several expressions for affinity by marriage from Slovene Istria and villages close to the border between Croatia and Slovenia (since they had been within the same endogamous area prior to World War II villages living there are related to each another) she has found several elements which to confirm this hypothesis. Expressions such as nevesta (sister-in-law, daughter-inlaw), diver (brother-in-law, zava (sister-in-law) and svak (brother-in-law) indicate patrilineage and virilocal orientation, family structure as well as relations built upon the egalitarian principle of division of farmsteadsV besedilu avtorica preverja hipotezo, da je sorodstveno izrazje povezano z družinsko sestavo in sorodstvenimi odnosi. Na zgledu nekaterih sorodstvenih izrazov za svaštvo iz slovenske Istre in vasi tik za hrvaško-slovensko mejo (vasi na obeh straneh so v starem sorodstvu, saj so bile do druge svetovne vojne v istem endogamnem območju) najde zanjo več potrditev.
