He starts from the changed position of modern art and also of modern science and on this basis sketches some points of contact between art and science, for example their cognitive function and their object, which is often the same. In the last aspect art is identified with science: both aim at the knowledge of the complex or to show it behind the simple of the phenomenon - contrary to philosophy whose aim is to unveil and to show the simple behind the complex. Nevertheles there exists something else or something third, which differenciates it at the same time both from science and philosophy: its "subjectivity"Avtor obravnava odnose med znanostjo in umetnostjo. Izhaja iz premeščene pozicije novejše umetnosti pa tudi moderne znanosti, ter na tej osnovi zariše nekatere stične točke med umetnostjo in znanostjo, npr. njuno spoznavno funkcijo ter njun predmet, ki je pogosto isti. V tem zadnjem pogledu se umetnost enači z znanostjo: obe hočeta za enostavnim videzom spoznati in pokazati kompleksno - v nasprotju s filozofijo, ki hoče za kompleksnim odkriti in pokazati enostavno.
