This international scientific conference, which the IAPS has been organising since its establishment in 1972, was the 47th in a row. The event in Kyoto, which used to be Japan's capital city for more than a thousand years and is today the centre of its history and culture, attracted over 100 attendees from all over the world. This year's conference was particularly important, because it was held in the country that next year will host XXXII Olympic Games of the modern era in Tokyo (24 July-9 August 2020)Mednarodno združenje za filozofijo športa (angl. International Association for the Philosophy of Sport - IAPS) je v sodelovanje z Japonskim združenjem za filozofijo športa in športno vzgojo (angl. Japan Society for the Philosophy of Sport and Physical Education - JSPSPE) od 17. do 20. septembra 2019 v Kjotu (Kyoto International Conference Center) na Japonskem organiziralo mednarodni raziskovalni seminar filozofije športa. Mednarodno znanstveno srečanje, ki poteka v organizaciji IAPS vse od ustanovitve te mednarodne organizacije leta 1972, je bilo že 47. po vrsti. Dogodek je privabil v Kjoto, ki je bilo več kot tisoč let prestolnica Japonske in je danes osrednji center njene zgodovine in kulture, več 100 udeležencev iz celega sveta. Letošnja konferenca pa je imela posebno težo, saj je bila organizirana v državi gostiteljici leto dni pred XXXII.
