The transformation is supposedly essential for securing economic and financial sustainability of the social security system. Under the surface of such an argument one can nevertheless find the secretive fear from the welfare state as such and its ability to interfere with the individual's private autonomy, and one' tendency for his greater freedom. The letter elements can be merged into the desire of the privatization of social risks, which should, apart from the supposed disburdening of the system, bring about a higher quality of - mostly medical - service and foremost one's ability to choose. I will try to show why we should, although not blindly, hold on to the traditional system of solidarity among the group members, why privatizing social risks might not be the best option for us, and that fear from the welfare state is often illusive. I will designate the first part of the paper to a critical but not a detailed analysis of certain aspects of the welfare state and take on its freedom based critic. In the second part I will investigate actual issues related to the privatization of social risks associated with fundamental branches of social insurance and compare those issues to the initially raised questions"},{"@xml:lang":"sl","#text":"V zadnjem času smo lahko vnovič priča vzniku drugačne paradigme socialne države - paradigme, ki teži po njenem krčenju ali temeljni transformaciji. Le-ta bi naj bila nujno potrebna predvsem zaradi ekonomsko- finančne vzdržnosti sistema socialne varnosti. Vendar pa se pod površjem takšnega argumenta pogosto skriva tudi strah pred samo socialno državo, njeno (z)možnostjo posega v zasebno avtonomijo posameznika in želja po posameznikovi večji svobodi. Pravkar naštete elemente lahko združimo v težnjo po privatizaciji socialnih tveganj, ki naj bi poleg domnevne razbremenitve sistema s seboj prinesla tudi višjo kvaliteto (predvsem zdravstvenih) storitev in v prvi vrsti možnost posameznikove svobodne izbire. V besedilu bom skušal pokazati zakaj bi morali tudi v prihodnosti - četudi ne slepo - slediti tradicionalni solidarni skupnosti, zakaj privatizacija socialnih primerov ni nujno najboljša izbira ter zakaj je strah pred \"intervencijsko\" socialno državo pogosto prazen. Prvi del besedila bom posvetil kritični, a ne (pre)podrobni analizi nekaterih aspektov socialne države ter se spopadel z njeno na posameznikovi svobodi utemeljeno kritiko.
