They are present in otherwise healthy children, but more often in children with impaired neurological development. In such a case it is necessary to exclude anatomical abnormalities and motor feeding problems. Feeding problems are often associated with hypersensitivity to stimuli around the mouth and in the oral cave. These problems should be identified as soon as possible. The child and its family should be referred to the therapeutic program. The paper presents the basic principles of the sensory oral approach to feeding problems, which was developed by Kay A. Toomey and her colleagues. The results of the studies show that this approach is effective</dc:description><dc:description xml:lang="sl">Težave pri hranjenju in neuspevanje otroka so v zgodnjem otroštvu pogoste.
